Volunteers are vital to CERCOPAN’s growth and development, providing a variety of skills and expertise for minimal cost, which allows us to conserve scarce resources for project development. We considers ongoing training of local staff vital to the sustainability of the project. Long-term volunteers bring skills related to environmental education, fundraising, veterinary nursing, biology, engineering, construction, animal husbandry and wildlife rehabilitation. Short-term volunteers gain vital experience for their own future careers, as well as bringing vital funds to the project and helping to publicize our work.
CERCOPAN accepts long-term supported volunteers for positions advertised in our vacancies section, highly skilled short-term volunteers who are self supporting (3 months or less) and are able to provide much needed expertise and working holidays/internships for those wishing to stay 2 weeks – 3 months to gain experience and training or just looking for a holiday with a difference.
