Adopt Cross’s Group

Cross is a male putty-nosed guenon monkey. He is named after the Cross River that dominates south-eastern Nigeria and encircles the deep forest block in which he was born, and then orphaned when his parents were killed for their meat. He was a tiny baby, between 2-4 months old, when he came to stay with us, and due to a bad accident while growing up we had to amputate his right arm above the elbow. But being a strong boy he made a full recovery, and you would hardly realise he had a disability with all the chasing and playing antics he gets up to with the group! Tom and Akampa arrived at CERCOPAN in 2007, and joined Cross soon after that, as they were all of a similar age. They love to play and, although they are getting older, the recent addition of younger Mimi in 2011 has relit their boisterous natures. Adopt Cross’ group to help CERCOPAN look after the putty-nosed guenons in our care, and to ensure we are able to rescue other monkeys trapped in conditions where they are given inappropriate care.
